Kitty Amézola 2015

Kitty Amézola — Legacy in a bottle

Introducing Kitty Amezola, a unique wine created as a tribute to my mother. Only 300 bottles exist, an intimate, authentic wine full of feeling, made for those who are part of the Amézola Friends’ Club, guardians of this legacy. Round, delicate and with its own personality, it is an oenological gem created to be enjoyed calmly and with fond memories.

This wine is exclusive and can only be baught by Amézola Friends’ Club members.

Bottle size: 0.75 l

Presentation: Bottle sealed with wax and Kitty’s stamp with her symbols of the sun — a reminder of Argentina (the land where she was born) — and the shamrock — a reminder of Ireland (her family’s homeland) — with an individual wooden case, engraved and also sealed with wax.

Limited edition: only 300 numbered bottles.

Scores: over 93 points in all guides (pending official publication).

Vintage: 2015, for us one of the best vintages of this century, which gave us wines with great fruit expression, elegant and silky with plenty of body. The year Kitty left us, now 10 years ago.

Varietals: This wine is 80% Tempranillo and 20% Graciano, from Kitty’s favourite estates, San Quiles and Arenillas.

Production: This wine undergoes a long maceration of 28 days in vats. It is then aged in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels for 48 months. The rest is aged in the bottle. Weekly bâtonnage for the first 6 months.

Tasting notes: This wine is a tribute to the mother of the Amézola sisters. It combines grapes from their favourite vineyards. A mature, traditional-style wine with aromas of leather and autumn leaves, fine tannins and silky flavours of summer berries. Lively and harmonious.

Food pairing: scrambled eggs, roasts, white meats.
