Señorío de Amézola 2017

The maximum exponent of our winery and of a Rioja wine.  It is a faithful reflection of the personality of our “Terroir”. An elegant wine if ever there was one.

Bottle size: 0,75 l.

Scores: 92 points Tim Atkin.

Vintage: 2017, the earliest vintage in the winery’s history, was a vintage with outstanding results. The harvest was marked by the heavy frost in April, which reduced the harvest considerably but left us with wines of excellent quality. These are very concentrated wines that stand out for their finesse and elegance in the mouth.

Varietals: We select our grapes by quality; 85% Tempranillo from San Quiles, 10% Mazuelo from Faisanes, 5% Graciano from Barbarroja.

Winemaking: It undergoes a long maceration in tanks for 28 days. It is aged in French (40%) and American (60%) oak barrels for 24 months. The rest in bottle.

Tasting notes: Intense, sweet and spicy wine. The nose has soft notes of cinnamon, hints of forest flowers and orange zest. The palate is elegant and complex with very polished underlying acid tannins and a log aftertaste.

Pairing: Spoon dishes, all kinds of meats.
